Open letter to Kannada Music Director HAMSALEKA-Singer RAJESH KRISHNAN

We are the parents of Master P.S. ABHIRAM Bharathavamshi who is a participant in your esteemed Reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil’ Champs’. Our son is a child prodigy in music. At the age of five he had sung two of the PANCHARATNA KRITIS of Saint Tyagaraja. By the time he reached his 8th year of age, he had sung more than 65 devotionals on DASARA PADA. Till now he has donned the garb of Lord Krishna as many as 70-75 times (thru his dance performances & fancy dresses) , plays Flute, Veena , Key board besides singing.

Having been an ART CRITIC for two decades with thousands of Bylines (1125+) , I SUDARSHAN BHARATIYA and Abhi’s mother Vidushi SUSHMA SUDARSHAN (Classical Danseuse-Guru- with MA in Music) have always preferred to remain out of limelight, thus not influencing him , by letting him grow on his own merit. It is for this reason none knows us there in Sa Re Ga… Sets. UNLIKE others who kept hobnobbing so far.

Those 25 songs presented by Abhiram bespeak the variety and versatility of his talents.
Over the past 84 days of our association in this program, not even once has he been reprimanded by any of the judges for an amiss of Shruti, Tala or Raga
. He has successfully adopted all the advices of the judges who have openly said that he made them proud. We request you to take a close look into Abhi’s renditions of 25 songs vis-à-vis the rest. His ever smileful, confident , gritty presentations essay the musically built-up qualities of strength & “SATVIK’ essence as against the rest in the fray.

Now, Abhi stands eliminated on 20th night quite mysteriously!

We again request you to observe the two episodes of Saturday last. Having honoured by your kindselves with the BEST PAIR AWARD in Western styled numbers on Saturday last , he chose one of the difficult classical MALAYA MARUTHA GANA, he earned excessive accolades form Guru & Mahaguru. ONLY to be shunted to the DANGER zone. Further within the next 5th minute he was presenting CHAITRADA KUSUMANJALI, & earned wonderful compliments and declared ‘ELIMINATED!!!???’ after securing highest marks among the four !!!!!.

Throughout the day he had earned higher marks as against the retained fellow participant who and whose parents confessed that Abhiram was cheated. In fact two other participants & their parents also supported this opinion. But they feared to express , just to safeguard their status.

CAN THE ‘NATURE ‘ BE KEPT IN OUR CONTROL FOR A BOY TO ATTAIN PUBERTY AT 12 ???
HAVE YOU MADE ANY SUCH RESTRICTIONS , PRE-CONDITIONS TO HONOUR ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE A MASCULINE VOICE TO SING IN LITTLE CHAMPS???

THROUGHOUT THE LAST TWO MONTHS THE PARENTS WERE SNUBBED & RUFFLED BY THE PARTICIPANT CO-ORDINATORS AND THE ELIMINATION THREAT BEGAN RINGING 4 DAYS EARLIER TO ABHIRAM THRU THEM WHEN HIS PERFORMANCES HAVE ATTAINED A CRESCENDO IN THIS CONTEST.

When we waited the entire Sunday at the Studios to ascertain from you both the judges, the actual reason by this UNCEREMONIOUS SHUNT-OUT of a 12 year 2 months old from LITTLE CHAMPS.

After being ruffed up, preventing us by meeting the judges, the Director and his men have threatened us against dire consequences of the CAREER of our son!!!.

At dusk, we could meet you both when our favourite Singer ASKED US TO CONCENTRATE ON ABHIRAM's FUTURE …LIKE…ABHIRAM SINGING IN STUDIOS AS A PLAYBACK ARTIST…AND NOT WASTE TIME IN PARTICIPATING SUCH CONTESTS.!!!!??

We thanked him for all that .
But you have left us still CLUE LESS about the reason for his elimination.
DID ANY PARTICIPANT ASK FOR GAINING AN ENTRY INTO PLAY BACK SINGING CAREER THRU THIS CONTEST ????
OR
LIKE ANYBODY ELSE WE TOO EXPECTED JUST A FAIR PLAY OF PRESENTATION OF SONGS WITH ELAN and fairer verdicts too????!!!!

EACH TIME Govinda ( THE OTHER CONTESTANT) FAIRED IN A MEDIOCRE MANNER THEY GAVE UP ELIMINATIONS AND GAVE MASS EXCUSE.
For none of his (ABHIRAM) excellent performances was he given apt marks despite good compliments.
Hence compliments & marks never matched.
Many occasions the retained participant was booed & gave convincing marks even as the eyebrows raised. Even on Saturday night you chided him...Growvinda has become Downvinda...Go GO ..etc & retained him.

While many are given wild card entries, ………..what crime our son did…..except presenting sane, sobre , soulful songs with good & valid lyrical quality??

JUST TO SAVE ONE VOICE WITH MEDIOCRE PRESENTING ABILITIES, HOW MANY WORTHY VOICES NEED TO BE SACRIFICED??

Dear Sir, for decades I have been an admirer of your composing abilities & Sahitya. What a treat for an Admirere's family.
Everyone in the set , including the catering boy, make-up boys, light boys know and Govinda himself knows that Abhitram is a far better singer than Govinda. His parents are astonished each time he is in and any other boy is out of contest.


A school at Mandya dist. when visisted , the children there told enmassethat Abhiram and Kshama will make it to the Finals. How come our own prolific Judges did not like to know it, is not a million dollar question !?!

Hence, KINDLY RENDER JUSTICE NOW.

While your show is watched by 6 crore Kannadigas & many more in the World afar. Should they (responsible for the ouster) not think that atleast 20-25 % of them know the essence of music & thus would cut a very sorry figure of what has happened here??.

Even If one crore audience feel the injustice rendered to a kid by the fully grown up professionals …..which is open , transparent and evident…won’t we amass more of Sins …thus creating a sinful atmosphere….May Good Sense Prevail now in our world..
